New Customs Regulation in Thailand

Here’s an update from our counterparts in Thailand regarding a new customs regulation that has been recently enforced.

It is now MANDATORY to show Shipping Marks and Numbers on manifest and BL for shipment going into Thailand beginning 13th November 2017.

Failure to comply with the new rule will be subject to penalty not exceeding THB 50,000 per BL.

Therefore, “Marks and Numbers” should not be left black or being updated as “No Marks” on BL for shipment arriving in Thailand upon the date of commencement mentioned above.

If the shipping mark is only a picture, the word “picture” should be written on the BL and the Thai office will request for documents from consignee to be submitted to the customs accordingly.

The same Shipping Marks must also be shown on the cargo / MBL and HBL, or else the consignee has to pay a penalty of THB 50,000 (approximately USD1,500).

If you are still unsure or have questions regarding this new regulation, feel free to contact us at enquiries@multi-trans.com.my or call 03-3373 2288.
